Final Fantasy/Fairy Tail crossover AU planning post

Hokay so with that weird Final Fantasy/Fairy Tail crossover AU idea I had, Levy-mun (curious_librarian ) and I got talking about it and decided we'd really love to thread it out as some kind of mission thing which could be really cool but also needs a buttload of planning SO. This post is for discussing all things plot related. It will be updated often and will almost certainly contain spoilers for both Fairy Tail and Final Fantasy VII, so consider yourself warned.

So, plotwise, so far we have: Tifa has come to Fairy Tail in search for some information on some kind of monster in the ocean. This is Emerald Weapon from FFVII. There are five Weapon monsters in total in FFVII, Emerald, Ruby, Sapphire, Diamond, and Ultimate (there are two more, one each in the prequel Before Crisis and the sequel Dirge of Cerberus, but seven might be a bit much). The plan is for Tifa and Levy and hopefully some others to go on a quest to defeat these monsters and save Fiore, because, y'know, kinda what they do.

The order the Weapons will be found/fought:
Emerald Weapon - found in the ocean
Ruby Weapon - found in a desert
Sapphire Weapon - found somewhere icy
Diamond Weapon - found in a volcano
Ultimate Weapon - found in a jungle/forest

Yes, absolutely, we were hoping you would! And hopefully Natsu-mun too if they're interested =D Levy-mun and I have been talking about this at uni, but we thought it'd probably be a good idea to make a planning post as we only see each other twice a week.

Why yes we did say volcano. Considering diamonds are found in volcanoes. We had to put one in there for ya :D you're gonna need the power up if you want to be a part on enormous monster destruction!

There isn't supposed to be anything left. If I remember correctly we were going to think of a dark guild that is using these weapons to wipe out everyone else. As per there style :DD well I hope we still get paid..>.

Well considering that it's not an actual job request and more 'oh crap this thing is gonna destroy the world let's stop it cause I like living' then yeah I'm not sure payment is involved... XD

I know Lu-chan, perhaps there will be a job option for some of them that have been around for a while but forgotten. for example, the emerald weapon is the first but what I'm thinking is that there may be a chain that links them all together?

Okay so I've headcanon'd that Sayuri town (my own made-up town where Tifa's guild is) is on the south coast of Fiore at the mouth of the river and I would insert an image here to show you but I don't know how to do that in a comment :/ But yeah so Emerald Weapon is to the south or south west of Fiore hangin' out in the ocean and upsetting boats and stuff.

That sounds like an awesome location. Beautiful scenery too! Fantastic location to start it off. I've found a map of 'Earthland' that has a picture of a green dragon out to sea, so that might be useful in the beginning :D
